Re: Same Day Coverage From NMRA Atco on Stang TV

We are here in Atco New Jersey for NMRAís third event of the 2010 season, second pointís event. They were calling for a good chance of rain today but as of now itís a hot and humid. The track staff is prepping the track for the test & tune that will be run at 3pm.

Cars are still coming in through the gate and making their way to tech. Currently some of NMRAís top cars are here on the grounds.

We have Mike Murillo and his bad Mustang running in Pro Outlaw looking to dip into the 6.60 mark at over 200 MPH.

Ken Ewer in Drag Radial who just finished his new motor a few weeks ago and ran it at the Cecil County meet for the first time. Let's see how he runs on the BFG's this weekend at Atco!

The Tuten Brothers Chris and his SSO Mustang and Brian who has moved from EFI Renegade to Drag Radial are here ready to run for the winners circle here at Atco.

Re: Same Day Coverage From NMRA Atco on Stang TV

We are continuing here with Test and Tune. First round of qualifying will be starting at 7pm.

Jason Lee in Drag Radial came off the trailer and his first pass goes an 8.02 @ 176! Look for some big runs this weekend out of the Red four eyed radial car.

Lou Proto had an aborted pass and goes 8.25. Look for the nitrous convertible to step it up tonight with some cool weather.

Chris Tuten's Super Street Outlaw car on his first test and tune pass went 7.59. Tuten has already been in the thirties with this car. Tonight the turbo car will look for some killer times in the green machine.

Re: Same Day Coverage From NMRA Atco on Stang TV

Test & Tune continues with some impressive numbers with the Drag Radial cars!

Dave Guy goes 8.10 his first pass in the test & tune session. The Drag Radial cars are really stepping up in the test session. If this holds look out for a very close field here this weekend.

Chad Doyle not to be outdone comes up behind Dave Guy and runs 8.07. Doyle ran an 8.07 in Bradenton so it looks like the man from Michigan has his car dialed in.

    Saturday Morning Update

    Saturday Coverage: Morning Update

Good morning from Atco here on Saturday morning. The weather last night cut short qualifying for a couple classes. Pro Outlaw and EFI Renegade will only get two qualifying sessions. Factory Stock, Pure Street, Real Street and Drag Radial were able to complete the first qualifying session last night before the torrential down pour hit Atco.

Jason Lee's strong 7.94 pass looks to keep him number 1 through today but with the likes of Enzo Pecchini and David Guy who both have run in the 7's before it looks like Drag Radial will be a very tight class this weekend.

Action today started right after 9 with bracket racing, the heads up classes will be following them.

Once again thanks to SCT Performance for making all of our coverage possible. Visit them at sctflash.com

    More Updates from Atco

The weather today looks to be great for racing. More racers have arrived since yesterday night.

John Urist is warming his car up for today's qualifying session.

Sam Vincent is here on the grounds with his Nitrous Big Block combination. Looks for some impressive numbers from the Nitrous machine.

The cars are waiting in the lanes to run. The cars have been called to the lanes but they are just waiting for the track crew to finish up and we'll be back up and running.

2nd Round Complete for FS, PS, RS and Drag Radial

2nd round has just been completed for Factory Stock, Pure Street, Real Street and Drag Radial. EFI Renegade, Super Street Outlaw and Pro Outlaw have just finished first round since they were not able to get first round in last night due to the rain.

Last year's Drag Radial Champ Jason Lee goes low E.T. for the event. Jason has continually improved on his E.T. each pass. In Test & Tune he went 8.02, first round of qualifying Lee goes 7.94 and in the second round Lee improves and now holds the record with a 7.89 @ 180.

In EFI Renegade Dan Rawls in the Inductions Solutions Nitrous Mustang goes 8.34 @ 164. Dan who last year came very close to earning the EFI Renegade Championship looks on top of his game this weekend.

In Super Street Outlaw John Urist is holding the number 1 spot as of now with a 7.40 @191. Urist who has won the last 4 championships in SSO is gunning for number 5 this year and with the way he is running after first round he has 4 tenths on the rest of the field.

    Round 3 finished up

Round 3 has come to a close with a bang!

First up in Round 3 which they ran in reverse order was Pro Outlaw. Pro Outlaw only see three racers. Mike Murillo, Conrad Scarry, and Dwayne James.

Conrad Scarry was up first, he had a tough time getting down the track his first time up but in his last shot he goes 6.73 @218.37. This set the record in Pro Outlaw and was Conrad's fastest time.

Mike Murillo who was up next had something to say about that and goes a 6.71 @219.22 lowering the record Scarry just set the previous run down the quarter. Look for these two in the finals with the way they have run this weekend.

Sam Vincent stepped up his qualifying efforts with a 7.622 @188. Look for Sam to continue to improve as he had the nitrous car running very well at Bradenton.

Jason Lee goes low again in Drag Radial with a 7.891 @179 lowering the E.T. record yet again in Drag Radial. Jason has gone faster every single pass he has made this weekend. Lee looks to be consistent in eliminations and take home the Atco crown this weekend.

    Sunday Morning Update

It's after 9am so guess what we get to do today? Yeah that's right racing has started at Atco with NMRA's finest starting eliminations. Cars are being pulled out of there trailers getting ready for todays action.

Special thanks to our event sponsor SCT Performance. Check out www.sctflash.com for all their great tuning solutions.

After an action packed day of racing yesterday with records being broken multiple times in a few classes today looks to see some great runs with the cool weather we have this morning.

Jason Lee looks to continue his roll in Drag Radial. Jason has been dominate this weekend throughout qualifying. If all holds true look for Lee to continue and take home the Drag Radial win. Jason has worked hard getting this motor together the past few weeks after damaging his previous one. Looks like the hard work has paid off!

Mike Murillo who yesterday ran a 6.71 in Pro Outlaw is fighting some of the same issues he had in Bradenton. The SCT team always seems to find a way to win or in the least be up front in the Pro Outlaw class. I would expect the same today in Eliminations.

Heads up classes are being called to the lanes in a few so I'm going to head out to the starting line and get ready for some exciting NMRA wheels up action!

Re: Same Day Coverage From NMRA Atco on Stang TV

Round 1 almost all finished up other than a few classes.

Pro Outlaw was up first with Conrad Scarry taking on Dwayne James. Scarry who yesterday had the Pro Outlaw for about 2 minutes looks to take the win this weekend at Atco. Scarry will be matched up with Mike Murillo in the finals of Pro Outlaw. Dwayne James has had problems getting down the track this weekend and was finally able to do that with a 7.71 but that wasn't enough to get by Scarry.

In Super Street Outlaw Chris Tuten was up against Ozzy Ucer. Tuten took the win as Ucer had some issues getting down the track. Tuten lit the scoreboards with a 7.77 at 184 on 7 cylinders.

Sam Vincent was up next against Chip Havemann with Chip getting the upset win. Sam had some traction problems down track and was only ablle to run a 7.99 @ 162.

In EFI Renegade Dan Rawls who was found to be legal after the teardown showed everyone that he has the Inductions Solutions car running consistent 8.30's.

Drag Radial, Real Street and Pure Street haven't run yet but they have just been called to the lanes for first round. I will be back with final updates from Round 1 after Drag Radial, Real Street and Pure Street finish up.

    Round 1 Complete all Classes

Round 1 Complete in all classes.

In Drag Radial Jason Lee has does it once again. The man from Ohio has run quicker yet again with a 7.87 @ 179. This time Jason had to do a little driving with a wheelstand plus being a little bit over the track.

In Pure Street Ryan Hecox puts it on the bumper and runs 10.29 @ 129. Hecox looks tough this weekend. The Pure Street racers will have a tough time with the veteran champ.

    Race Recap

    Atco Race Recap

Race Recap for the 10th Annual NMRA Ford Nationals Presented By Downs Ford Motorsport at Atco Raceway in Atco, New Jersey

The Garden State always seems to see some great E.Tís by the NMRA Racers. From Pro Outlaw Conrad Scarry running 6.73 for the record and Mike Murillo right behind him running a 6.71 and taking right away from the Scarry Crew, In Super Street Outlaw Johnny Mac @ John Urist running in the 7.30ís against some strong competition from the likes of Chris Tuten and Chip Havemann. Chris Tuten ran most of the weekend on 7 cylinders and still pulling out big MPHís at 190. Tuten didnít have enough in the front half with the limited torque his 7 cylinders was producing so he had to chase down Johnny Mac but just couldnít get around him.

Overall Atco was a great race with some great people to be around. The finals shaped up to be great. The NMRA racers who attended the Atco race ran some great times and set some blistering records.
