I thought for sure that my weekend was done until a few people stepped in and offered to help get me back on track. Sean Wiley from Dynamic Converters was on the property and happened to have a... I blew the front pump seal on my c-4 during the 3rd round of qualifying Saturday afternoon at MIR. I thought for sure that my weekend was done until a few people stepped in and offered to help get me back on track.

Sean Wiley from Dynamic Converters was on the property and happened to have a seal with him so that started the ball rolling. Once I had the seal a fellow truck class competitor P.J. Hooper and his friend Josh who was attending the race as a spectator offered to help pull the transmission, replace the seal and put everything back together.

We started pulling things apart around 4:30pm and by 11:00pm the tranny was fixed and back in the truck. It was too late to test things so first thing Sunday morning I fired the truck up, checked for leaks and went for a short drive around the pits just to make sure everything was good to go and it was.

PJ and Josh gave up their entire evening/night to help fix my truck and for that I owe them a big Thank You and dinner at the next race :D. If it wasn’t for them there’s no why I could have raced on Sunday or make it to the finals. Thanks again guys for all your help!!!!!

I also need to say Thanks to Bob Cochran (aka Flat Bed Bob) for making a run to the parts store to get a few things we didn't have on site.

If I sold it I could afford to get a better tow vehicle (something at least 3/4 ton with a 3rd row seat) for the toy hauler and a big 4x4 quad that I want, and I think I would get a lot more use out of them, then I do the Cobra.


A lot of you know the car, but the basics are:

Built Teksid short block by Fox Lake 9.1-1 Diamond Pistons, Oliver rods, Cobra Crank.

Built 4R70W by Darrin at BC Automotive with manual Valve body and L/U and O/D on a switch and Hurst pistol Grip 1/4 stick.

Red Alert EGT system with sensors in every exhaust port set to kill the boost controller upon any cyl lean condition.

Hellion TT kit with custom 3.5" intake tube powder coated to match the valve covers and 01 Cobra intake.

Powder coated 17" Enkei RPF-1's (15 #'s and 17#'s)

Thats' just the big stuff, there are obviously a ton of other parts I'm not even mentioning.

The car made 700 on straight pump and 16.5 #'s, 850 on pump/meth and 23#'s and 991 on race gas and 28#'s through the T-56. I've only dynoed it on the pump Meth tune since putting the auto in and it made 780. Believe me when I say that now that the converter is loosened up, it feels Waaaaay faster with the auto.

The body is in good shape, but it is black, and does have some small rock chips and scratches that you only see because the car is black, but it looks good for a car that has been driven and has just turned 40k miles.

The car also came in 3rd in the 2010 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords Magazine King of the Street competition, and you can also look up my screen name and see everything good and bad the car has ever done.

I tried to build the car to run 9's in street trim and be able to be driven anywhere, and it should have no problems doing that now that the converter is set up right.

If I can't get close to $28k for it, I will probably just keep it. But if someone wants a nasty, evil looking Cobra to scare the **** out of themselves with, this is the one for you, and it will save you about $30k instead of building it yourself.

The car just hit 40k miles and I have the clean title. Almost all of the mods have less than 2k miles on them.

Do you think its the convertor coming apart, and sticking the valves in the valve body?... I have a powerglide in my racecar that i could put in it. Ronnie Diaz had quite the week leading up to this race. Last Friday, Diaz hurt the motor.
