'09 NMRA World Finals to Host King of the Street Competition - 12 Selected

13 very cool street cars have been selected to participate this year in the 5.0 Mustang King of the Street competition. 750 hp +, Drivability, on Nitto NT555R Extreme Drag Radials, A/C, Street/Strip, Best of Show Condition...be sure to come out to the NMRA World Finals to view see in person what these 13 guys can do!

King of the Street is a spirited, yet fun competition to pick the most powerful Mustang, and to see which Mustang can put down the most power to the chassis dyno rollers and still maintain streetable civility. That means you get positive grades for an instant cold start, a stable idle, working A/C, and a booming stereo, while we deduct grades for manual steering, a non-overdrive tranny, a spool, and other race hardware. We are looking for the most streetable, most powerful Mustang in the country.

KOTS ’09 will take place Thursday October 1st and Friday October 2nd, during the NMRA World Finals in Bowling Green, Kentucky (for more info, check out www.nmraracing.com/ky).

Even if you weren't invited to participate, you can watch the event unfold at Beech Bend Raceway Park.

The car wouldn't go into third gear so the numbers wer not accurate. He is still running the "B" heads.

He would have easily gone 9's if it could have gone into 3rd. He has been running 9's on little 275-40-17's on stock 17X8 inch wheels!

Here's a video of how he usually does on only 17 PSI.

Also, the black fox with chrome pony's runs deep into the 9's as well on Nitto's. He had the same problem with 3rd gear on the 4R70W.

It was a great turn out for sure!

I had a blast and got to meet some cool people in the process.
Getting my car back tonight (had to get a new tailshaft, new main shaft, and new driveshaft) after my damage on the track.
Should be good to go again! :D

The owner of the green Cobra is Jake Long, owner of Power By the Hour in south Florida. The dude knows what he is doing, for sure! Everything pertaining to the turbo system, fuel system, and tuning was done by him... He's a really cool cat! Too bad he had issues with the car....

wow. you guys do some really nice work. one question i have is, where the cold side pipes meet together before intering the intake, do they stay separate until right before intering the tb or are they actually merged into one pipe where you welded the plates on the top and bottom?
